Scotiabank sponsors Mentorship at the American Marketing Association (AMA)

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is pleased to welcome Scotiabank as the 2020/2021 title sponsor of its Mentorship portfolio.

This one-year sponsorship includes AMA Toronto’s Mentor Exchange program, which services the mid to senior level marketer, as well as Career Accelerator, a program designed for young marketers in the first six years of their careers.

“At Scotiabank we are guided by our purpose: for every future and helping our employees, customers, their families and their communities achieve success,” said Laura Curtis Ferrera, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Scotiabank. “Our sponsorship of the AMA Toronto mentorship programs reinforces Scotiabank’s commitment to supporting professionals in the marketing industry through mentorship, recognizing the importance of learning from each other, at all levels."

Accomplished leaders share a common trait; they build and maintain the support of mentors, coaches and advocates to help them every step of their way. Mentorship is critical to find clarity of purpose, and to be challenged to excel further.

Now in its eleventh year, AMA Toronto’s Mentor Exchange program was founded in 2008 and is run in partnership with the Schulich Executive Education Centre, pairing 50 exceptional mid-career marketing and business executives together with 50 industry veterans, over a nine-month period.

In addition, the Career Accelerator program was created to meet the needs of junior marketing professionals looking to move up in their careers by focusing on networking, relationship building and understanding the marketing career landscape.

"We are thrilled that Scotiabank joins today in supporting mentorship with AMA Toronto,” said Craig Lund, Secretary & Vice President, Mentorship. “We are especially pleased to partner with an organization that shares our values regarding mentorship."

AMA Toronto’s Mentorship portfolio is the largest and most established marketing mentorship platform in North America, and is seen as the gold standard in industry run mentorship.
