At AMA Toronto we have so much to celebrate for 2020: inspiring speakers, committed partners, and a growing roster of sponsors who make our work and impact possible. Looking at what’s ahead for 2021, we are truly excited to bring back our signature programs like Legendary Leadership and Mentorship, as well as some new initiatives to inspire our community - and we are ready to start the new year with a big bang!
With a new year also comes new Legends, and we are thrilled to launch the nominations for 2021 Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends. Over the last year, we inducted our 2020 Marketing legends, despite the unprecedented year we have all had, thanks in part to lead sponsor Architech, and our AMAzing 2020 jury. You can hear their perspectives and check their stories out thanks to our partner Lapse Productions who captured these videos in March 2020 (literally just before the pandemic hit). Thanks to these marketing leaders for their engagement and commitment to excellence in the marketing industry.
Nominations for 2021 Marketing Legends and Marketer on the Rise are open until February when we will also announce the 2021 jury. So take the time now to nominate your mentors, bosses, the marketing leaders who inspire you and who have made a remarkable contribution to the industry in Canada and on the international stage. Or recognize aspiring young leaders who are on their way to becoming the marketing legends of tomorrow.
We are also thrilled to be celebrating January – which is Mentorship Month – with the announcement of Scotiabank as the title sponsor for AMA Toronto’s industry-leading mentorship programs. This one-year sponsorship includes AMA Toronto’s Mentor Exchange program which services the mid to senior-level marketer, as well as Career Accelerator, a program designed for young marketers in the first 6 years of their careers.
In December, I hosted my first AMA Toronto Ask me Anything session, and all the conversation revolved around career. That’s why I am happy to report that thanks to the tireless efforts of AMA Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships Dean MacNeil, we have launched the brand new AMA Toronto Career Centre for both job seekers as well as employers. Join the AMA Toronto Career Café to find out more.
And, as if that were not enough, I am also excited to be hosting a workshop on Mentorship at DX3 – and also moderating a CMO panel on Digital Reinvention – so don’t miss this opportunity to get your tickets – as an Association Partner, AMA Toronto is able to pass on a special offer for 25% off regular DX3 prices: please use promo code AMA25 to get the discount.
Check out the DX3 Canada Agenda. So save the dates for March 2-5th, 2020, and hope to see you at this conference – at the intersection of Marketing, Retail and Technology.
Have a wonderful start to the New Year! Let it be brighter, healthier, more prosperous, and safe! Cheers to new beginnings, and to new opportunities!
