Many people associate leadership with authority, power and titles. However, my experience is that leadership is a mindset that adapts to almost any context. Depending on the situation, yes, you may need to lead the team and the charge. But leadership can also mean going above and beyond to support the team’s goals or perhaps opening your mind to a new way to improve a current situation. Regardless of your role or level within an organization, you can lead if you view your challenges and opportunities through the lens of “how do I make this better?”
Congratulations to Our January Rockstars
All our Rockstars have shown leadership in their AMA roles. Our January Rockstars are no exception. THANK YOU Akshay, Jessica and Tamara! Your AMAzing contributions make a big difference.
Akshay Ahluwalia Marcom Director of Digital Marketing
A relatively recent addition to the Marcom team, Akshay embraced
the email marketing portfolio and worked closely with the Membership team to update the master list.
He streamlined the process with a standard operating process form for email marketing. He
also helped create a consistent look and feel for communication.
Jessica Zuckier Marcom Account Director Signature Events
Jessica was recently promoted to this role which includes providing Marcom support for the Agency Panel, a key AMA Toronto annual event. Jessica took the lead role in ensuring both the pre-event and post-event promotion and materials were effectively managed and professionally executed. She worked closely with the Agency Panel working team which also included Hadijah Creery (Events), Ruby Sohi (Events), Chris Stathousis (Strategy and Insights) and Matt Chong (Event owner and moderator).
Tamara Dinelle Membership Director of MNG
Tamara made amazing contributions in a short period of time on the MNG team. In November, she spearheaded a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion MNG event. The virtual panel discussion was moderated by Craig Lund and featured thought-provoking Canadian and American speakers. Tamara and the many other working team volunteers involved in this event put AMA Toronto on the map as a thought leader in this space, started great conversations and educated all of us on the issue.
