Join us on Wednesday, September 30th for the Next Interactive MNG Session

The American Marketing Association (AMA) Toronto is proud to present our next event, hosted virtually, on Wednesday, September 30th from 5:30 PM EST.  You won't want to miss this exciting session! The topic of the upcoming session is "The Keys to Successful Brand Campaigns and Community Building" with TikTok's Vanessa Gaik, Group Director of Brand Partnerships, Canada.

Generation Z and Millennials are changing the way we look at entertainment and tell stories. In turn, the brands seeing the most success are those taking the time to listen closely to their audiences, engage where they engage, and embrace the creativity and authenticity of the content they create. Whether brands are bringing awareness to critical initiatives like Black Lives Matter, social distancing or using TikTok as a channel to stay connected with their audiences, they’re creating authentic communities built on the foundation of sharing joy.

In this session, TikTok’s Vanessa Gaik will share top trends from the platform’s community of users and how brands can create meaningful, authentic, and relevant content that resonates with today’s consumer.

Vanessa Gaik

An imaginative and strategic digital sales leader, Vanessa brings over 14 years of experience building relationships with Fortune 500 clients across Canada, the U.S. and E.U. As Group Director of Brand Partnerships in Canada, Vanessa focuses on building TikTok’s footprint in Canada while helping brands learn new and positive ways of engaging their customers. Prior to TikTok, she was responsible for building and scaling the footprints of Yahoo! and Facebook within Canada.

Legendary Leadership Series - The Business of Branding

The Legendary Leadership Series provides AMA members and non-members the exclusive opportunity to access and learn from Marketing Legends. 2020 Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends recipients and business leaders Brian Scudamore and Anthony von Mandl will be discussing The Business of Branding with host Ashish Patel, CTO of Architech. There will also be an opportunity for interactive Breakout sessions with each Legend on the subject of Marketing Leadership and Career Development, allowing the audience to ask questions to both speakers.   This is an event you won’t want to miss!

Anthony von Mandl -  Founder & CEO, The Mark Anthony Group of Companies

Intensity, infectious passion, overcoming obstacles by innovation, and an unwavering commitment to his vision led Anthony von Mandl to begin his journey more than four decades ago. Born in Vancouver and European educated, Anthony without resources, founded a wine importing firm in Vancouver at the age of 22. Despite difficult initial years, he successfully grew Mark Anthony Wine Merchants, and in 1981 began to realize his audacious dream: to produce world-class wines in British Columbia’s then unknown Okanagan Valley. Little did he know that in order to self-finance his vision he would organically build a more than $3B corporation from the ground up without outside financing – and along with it, a collection of enduring and iconic brands that would disrupt the beverage alcohol business in the U.S. and Canada, and connect with consumers for decades. Today, the Vancouver-based, private and family-owned Mark Anthony Group has no debt and self-finances all expansion.

Brian Scudamore - Founder and CEO at 1-800-GOT-JUNK? & O2E Brands

Serial entrepreneur and author Brian Scudamore has always taken the road less travelled. At just 19 years old, he pioneered the industry of professional junk removal with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, turning a chore people avoid into an exceptional customer service experience. Then he scaled that success into two more home-service brands, WOW 1 DAY PAINTING and Shack Shine under the O2E Brands banner.

Brian learned the ins and outs of business by running his own, and believes that anyone with a fire in their gut and a vision for doing something incredible with their future can do the same. His philosophy, WTF (Willing To Fail), stems from his belief in the power of dreaming big, taking risks, and learning from mistakes. Through franchising, he’s giving thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to live their dreams of business ownership. Find his book, WTF?!
