AMA volunteers boost their careers. AMA opens doors. Our volunteers develop expertise and management skills, and their industry profile. Many of our volunteers have built their careers and their networks through AMA.

AMA volunteers have fun in a multitude of ways. Our more than 45 volunteers are part of a fun and dedicated group that run our organization, plan and host events, develop and implement communications, interact with our members, partners and sponsors and work on special projects. Are you an entrepreneurial, strategic and experienced sponsorship professional who thrives on business development? We are looking for a volunteer with at least 15 years of sponsorship experience to join AMA Toronto’s board and lead our sponsorship team.

As VP Sponsorship you will take an active role on our board and in the AMA community. You will set strategic direction and lead a team of volunteer directors and managers to recruit, lead and manage the sponsors that will help AMA Toronto succeed in serving our community. You will ensure our sponsors benefit from their relationship with AMA Toronto and in turn deliver value for our chapter. 

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for cash sponsorship activities across AMA Toronto programs including learning and networking events, Mentor Exchange and Marketing Hall of Legends.
    • Managing and developing your team while motivating them to meet and exceed our sponsorship objectives.
    • Collaborating strategically with our partnership team to complement our in-kind partnership activities.
    • Successfully identifying sponsor prospects who are aligned with AMA’s strategic priorities and leading the team’s pitch activities.
    • Ensuring the sponsorship team collaborates with other AMA teams (such as communications, events, etc) to identify the needs for the relationship and setting the parameters for smooth execution of the sponsorship through AMA work-flow and deliverables.
    • Overseeing your team’s management and execution of sponsorship agreements to make sure each party delivers on its commitments and is satisfied with the relationship while taking initiative to grow the sponsorship relationship.
    • Ensuring the negotiation and closing of agreements as well as contract renewals.

AMA Toronto is looking for committed volunteers who can help us organize and implement high quality learning and networking events for our community. Ideally you have event activation experience and a willingness to both guide and learn.

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Working with the Event Director to determine the event plan.
    • Liasing with other AMA volunteers both from the event team and other teams such as communications as needed.
    • Developing and managing the workback schedule.
    • Creating an event overview including room layouts.
    • Understanding and determining AV needs and food and beverage needs.
    • Ensuring all the details of the event are executed flawlessly.
    • Supervising event co-ordinators who can assist with execution.

AMA Toronto is looking for passionate and expert communications professionals to help us promote our learning and networking events. Events are one of the most high profile things we do for our community and this role is an important position within our Marketing and Communications team. As a Communications Manager you will have opportunities to learn and grow as you work with a variety of our volunteers, showcase your skills and build your network. If you enjoy being at the hub of an organization it’s a great opportunity.

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Developing communications for 3-5 events annually.
    • Working with the Event Lead/Owner and the Director of Event Communications to develop insightful and compelling communications based on the Event brief.
    • Working with the event team to ensure all communication objectives are met.

As we undertake an international rebranding effort, you will use our new brand guidelines as a platform to bring our refreshed brand to life. And as an integral part of our Marketing and Communications team you will have opportunities to learn and grow, develop your skills and build your network.

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Working with the VP Marketing and Communications, Director of Brand and the lead of AMA Toronto’s rebrand project to provide graphic design expertise to our Marcomm and AMA team across a variety of functions.

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Working with the Director of Events Comms to develop and implement a strategy for promoting the AMA event experience through photography.
    • Attend and photograph monthly AMA events (both breakfast and evening events).
    • Understanding what photos work for our social channels and other communications platforms.
    • Optimizing images for platform distribution (e.g., image size, etc.)
    • Edit and share photos with the AMA community through our website and other social channels as relevant.
    • Work with additional AMA teams, such as Mentor Exchange and Marketing Hall of Legends, to help address their photography needs.

AMA Toronto is looking for volunteers to join our Marketing Hall of Legends team. The Marketing Hall of Legends is an important annual AMA Toronto program that celebrates leaders within the Canadian marketing industry by awarding them and their achievements. One of the most critical steps in this program is selecting the right award winners. As Nominee Research Manager, you will have the opportunity to help qualified nominees shine and assist our high profile judges in making these important decisions.

Here are the requisite skills we are looking for:

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Researching and gathering information such as their body of work, case studies and bios, on your list of candidates

AMA Toronto is looking for a volunteer to manage our website needs. Our web presence is critical to our organization’s success and we need to provide the optimal customer experience to support and build AMA’s community as we evolve our web presence during a major rebranding process. This role is an important position within our Marketing and Communications team and provides great opportunities to learn and grow as you collaborate with a wide variety of our volunteers, showcase your skills and build your network. You would report to our Director of Marketing Operations but also work closely with our Director of Brand and the VP who is overseeing our rebranding project and be an important member of our web committee.

Your responsibilities would include:

    • Managing marketing and communications content requirements and execution for AMA’s web presence which currently includes our AMA Toronto as well as our Mentor Exchange and Marketing Hall of Legends websites as necessary
    • Identifying and managing AMA stakeholder web content requirements across other AMA portfolios such as Events, Volunteers, Membership, Partnership, Mentor Exchange and Marketing Hall of Legends
    • Working with other web managers/owners to identify, facilitate and manage content development/production, posting and publishing
    • Negotiating and closing agreements as well as contract renewals
    • Overseeing the delivery and execution of marketing and communications website elements
    • Assisting the leader of our website migration and rebranding project and playing an important role on our web committee
    • Ensuring brand standards are met
    • Knowing the website CMS and executing as well as training others on the CMS for posting and publishing
