Event Description

As consumers become more conscious about the impact their actions have on the environment, marketers need to understand how this will influence consumers' decision-making and purchasing behaviour; and, while savvy consumers actively look for ways to reduce their carbon footprint, many organizations are feeling compelled to revisit their green initiative strategies because of consumer demand, and as new regulatory requirements are unveiled.

With the words "Fair Trade", "CSR" (Corporate Social Responsibility), "Green" and "Eco" being applied to today's brands, what does this mean to a consumer that is getting a bit jaded with the currently unregulated terms? What is marketing's role in ensuring that the brand benefits from this association and does not get lumped in with "green washing"?

Join us for an insightful discussion, as we bring together organizations that have made CSR an integral part of their brand strategy, and learn what resonates in the marketplace - with today's more sophisticated consumer...and what doesn't.

Check out this interesting article which suggests that while green marketing (in the narrowest sense) may be a failure, a "powerful and consistent focus on the social change issue [green] must run throughout the entire process and organization" in order to be profitable. http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=Articles.showArticle&...
